Yeah, I feel like I have a similar issue. It's very frustrating and I often internalize it; "What's wrong with me that people always leave".

I'm old enough to know that people are just fickle and move on but it doesn't help the emotions that come when people go.

Yeah, that's almost always been my experience. I've only once been to a con with a friend. It's cool and all, but when there's no one to share the experience with it's kinda lonely.

The trick is to fake it until you make it. Odds are they're not actually doing any better than you, they're just better at keeping up the appearance that they got their shit together. We're all a mess behind the scenes.
