he stopped being active on twitter last year and i didn't even know he was sick until now. i'm sure he was happy and comforted that you were there with him in the end. i hope he rests well and that he didn't suffer.

I didn't know opera well, but he was always so sweet and welcoming to me. i wish i had been less shy and we could have been good friends before he passed. i'm so, so sorry for this loss, i know losing someone like him has to leave a massive hole behind.
