Actually that's great for any story with a slightly dehumanizing element. Like cyberpunk or a corporate setting. They plan on you being as small as possible to fit in a pre-made space.

It's such a good bit of world building. Like for a mobile unit you'd first think large daemon to help with movement. But then what if they are transfered or die? To standardize you plan for humans and expect the daemon to be carried.
