My 20,400th Starbucks at SW 107th Avenue & 16th Street in Miami marks another increment on my long road to 21K.

With my focus on work and saving, the next 600 stores will take a while, possibly into 2027.

MY 73RD STARBUCKING COUNTRY!!!

After an anxiety-laden night in Turks and Caicos, unsure if the Starbucks' temporary closure would be resolved before I left, I returned to the Grand Turk Cruise Port and breathed a sigh of relief when I spotted a Starbucks employee setting up.

Wondering how often 666 signs are stolen.

As countless Americans wake up to discover that funds have not been loaded on their SNAP cards, I cannot help but feel thankful that I am fortunate enough to afford to enjoy specialty coffee in NYC one day, Philly the next, and tomorrow another city.

Meanwhile, kids go hungry.

TEN YEARS OF DUCKHUNTING!!!

Last Saturday, October 25, marked ten years since I first discovered Duck Donuts at the Stonefield shopping centre in Charlottesville.

I fell in love from the first bite. Soon thereafter, I resolved to eat a doughnut from every location.

At 53, I am waaaay more mature and generally less prone to rash decisions...

BUT NOT ENTIRELY

Which is why I made the snap, possibly reckless, decision to run a SECOND 5K RACE tomorrow.

First race at 9 am, second race at 3 pm (if I don't injure myself during the first).

NO KINGS protests occurring all day today, Saturday, October 18th!

Look up your area, and you might still be able to make it out to one.

Starbucking in Ontario last weekend, but unfortunately too late to pick up this store in Sudbury, which closed during the recent Decimation.

This is just one of two dozen stores lost to me, and I expect more because it is not a conωenient time for me to tour the continent.

Wishing that Starbucks had remembered this last week before they laid off thousands of partners with almost no notice!!!

My 20,300th Starbucks, in Souderton, PA, in another increment on the long road to 21K and comes nearly eight months after 20K. Because I'm focusing on work, saving, and minimising driving, my pace this year has been glacial, and 21K might not even come until 2027.

After 22 years, my first ever seven-tile parallel in an officially rated Scrabble game, my play of A(N) TINODE next to A(D)EnOMAS.

I might never do this again.

Feels like I've been hearing about Narcan forever, but I've never actually seen the product until today, inside the loo at a coffeehouse in Akron.

FINALLY, THE FILM I'VE BEEN WAITING YEARS TO SEE!!!

The recent closure of the Starbucks at 1st & University in Seattle, spurred me to do some analysis, and the results are shocking.

In Seattle, the city where Starbucks originated, there are now only 18 company-operated stores in the city centre, while 47 have closed.

SEND ME POSITIVE WIBES, FRIENDS!!!

After 24 rounds of one of the year's premier Scrabble events, I sit in 5th play, one game out of the lead, with eight rounds to play on Sunday.

Can I do this?

My 20,200th Starbucks, 104 Jay Street in Brooklyn, another step on the slow road to 21K.

Well, this is a first!

For two decades I've been calling new Starbucks to werify that if/when they opened, and when I called the new Elgin store, the barista who answered was named Winter!!!

If we use "great suffering or injustice as our metric ", it not hard to argue that the United States is now a dystopia.

Honestly have doubts that protesting will save the United States--this country might already be lost.

But I cannot live with myself if I do nothing.

THIRTIETH ANNIVERSARY OF FIRST STARBUCKS!!!

Today, March 16, marks THIRTY YEARS since the evening when I first spotted a Starbucks, at Westheimer and Fountain View in Houston.

Little did I know then how that little-known company would change the course of my life.

FIRST TIME TO BARBADOS

Barbados was one of three Caribbean islands with Starbucks that I'd not yet wisited, but with this trip to their Coverley location, the island's 4th (of five), I make Barbados my 71st Starbucking country.

Duck Donuts is struggling.

The map shows (black dots) the North American closures I've identified, 41, over 20%.

Even worse, the two tables show the lifespan of each closed store, and the pattern is that newer stores close sooner which points to poor franchise selection.

Two-day Starbucking blitz across central Florida, the west coast, and a few in southern FL. Just over two dozen Starbucks and three Duck Donuts, doable but challenging because I'm flying out of MIA, to PTY, at noon on Sunday.
