The City of Renton raised the Juneteenth flag to honor the end of slavery and the ongoing fight for Black freedom and justice. This moment belongs to Black Americans. As a white ally & LGBTQ+ advocate, I was honored to support a ceremony that reflects community, history, and justice for all.

I had the opportunity to speak in support of the City of Renton reaffirming its protections for LGBTQIA+ people. As a community leader, I continue to witness families relocating to Washington in search of opportunity and dignity—leaving behind areas where that pursuit has been denied.
