mostly clueless i think
he does seem to be trying to instruct people on the right thing, but since he keeps putting so much of himself in the instructions he ends up adding his personal (bad) opinion for no real reason

i still plan on finishing it, but look forward to comparing it to other beginner’s guides
a lot of people i asked for recommendations from recommended this book (and the content itself is rock solid so far), but i don’t think i personally would recommend it
especially not to any trans friends

the tone is VERY conversational and can feel like a 65yo man is directly talking to you for pages and pages
some people might like that, but a lot might expect something much more objective/instructional
personally, i think the author’s personality being so forward in the text is very distracting
