Same as basically every attempt at building a parallel christian culture, like bible trivia board games or the "Godwitter" social media site my flatmate made back in 2008. Can't connect with outsiders over shared hobbies or tastes if everything you consume only exists inside the christian bubble.

We have to be more concerned with giving help to the needy than denying it to the so-called undeserving. We have to value compassion more than we fear the embarrassment of being taken advantage of. It's the only way we can survive as a species.

The ideas in your head aren't perfect either, they're just untested. In realizing those ideas, you find both flaws and opportunities, places where the hard-scrabble process of writing allows your idea to grow. Your actual work won't be the same as your internal vision; it will be better.

Exactly. Trans people have always been here, we will always be here, and nothing the bigots do can change that. The simple world they want to return to never actually existed.

Aye, and 'should' is the keyword. They don't want to earn that higher place; think they *deserve* to be on top, and anything else is an injustice. They've been convinced that minorities are victimizing them just by existing, that our happiness and prosperity must have been stolen from them.

Aye, the Dems aren't actually the political opposite to the Republicans, but a slightly less extreme version of the same. They're just as devoted to elitism, but they're willing to allow the absolute minimum scraps of socialism necessary to keep the country from collapsing too quickly.

Pretty much. They *want* to win, but not if it means moving even an inch to the left. The democratic party doesn't really care about pushing progressive policy, it cares about setting the limit on how progressive anyone in US politics is allowed to be. They make sure America doesn't HAVE a left.

It should be impossible to be 100% certain that the show has cut to ads, because fully self-contained 30 second advertisements could plausibly be a part of the show itself.

I promise you, the people who hate trans women are going to hate you no matter how closely you adhere to their standards. "Maybe the bigots will accept me if I meet their demands" is the absolute definition of pick-me behavior, and it never works. Stop letting TERFS and nazis define who you are.

I mean, I think trans women shouldn't have to do any of those things, but I'm not going to criticize anyone for doing them either. That's why I mean when I say that we get to decide what 'woman' means to us. We're people, so we don't have a point or a purpose, except to exist as ourselves.

If you think that other people are right to place those expectations on women, and that women who don't meet those expectations are doing something wrong, then yes, that sounds exactly like pick-me behavior.
