Not sure there would be a paradox - if they drained the fuel of the DeLorean Doc had recently buried in the cave in 1885, patched the fuel tank of the ‘prime’ DeLorean and used that fuel instead of alcohol, they could have got back to 1985 without blowing and needing to replace any parts…I think?
