A cosmos may grow six feet high on its thin stem, tossed by a breeze, looking all delicate. But it’s mid-November and this hearty bloom outlasted everything else. It isn’t fragile at all.

A few years ago, I heard the outstanding jazz pianist and composer David Kikoski play with a top notch band. We were in a cave-like club in the cellar of a Soho hotel. Although his piano bench gave way in the middle of the set, there was no stopping him. #NYC #Jazz #DavidKikoski #BlueskyPhotography

They stopped me on the street with a question. Would I join them in saying a blessing for the festival of Sukkot, to ask for a good harvest?

The Williamsburg Bridge is mostly made of steel. It has two steel towers and steel decks which carry cars, subway train traffic, and pedestrians. Only the central span of the deck is strung with suspension cables, which gives the bridge a slightly unfinished appearance.
