US Tariffs Should Not Apply to Records and Other Physical Media Vinyl records, CDs, cassettes, and other recorded media should be exempt from any tariffs under US presidential executive order. The executive order going into effect on August 29, 2025, removes a long-standing "de minimis" tariff exemption for most goods valued under USD $800. However, this change does not apply to "informational materials” like music media, which are still exempt from tariffs under US law 50 USC 1702(b)(3). Simply put, music and informational media have always been exempt from tariffs and continue to be so at this time. This means neither sellers nor collectors on Discogs should be charged additional customs fees.

The first vinyl album I recorded, designed, produced, and mastered is back from the cutter! Ok, it isn't great. But it exists, which is more than we had before! Mastering for proper levels - especially for a big brass band - is 'interesting'!

If I read correctly, Camp Mystic is far bigger than Bartle - 700 campers per session! The flood warning came out early Friday morning (overnight) so evac would have been hard. Especially given the topography - it's all a valley.

(Today through Saturday) Issued at 142 AM CDT Fri Jul 4 2025 Showers and isolated thunderstorms with pockets of heavy rain are ongoing over much of South Central Texas early this morning. This is due to forcing from a mid level trough over the Edwards Plateau interacting with an unseasonably moist airmass with PWs of 1.8 to 2.4 inches. The 2.34 inches seen on the 04/00Z Del Rio sounding is at the climatological maximum for this time of year. Rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches can be expected with isolated totals of 5 to 7 inches possible. Instantaneous rainfall rates up to 5 inches per hour are possible. The favored areas are across the Edwards Plateau and Hill Country, as well as Bexar County where a Flood Watch is in effect. These rains will continue through this morning and have extended the Flood Watch through 18z for those areas.

.UPDATE... Issued at 855 PM CDT Thu Jul 3 2025 Updated the Flood Watch to include Bexar, Kendall, Gillespie, and Llano Counties. The Flood Watch is in effect through 7 AM Friday. Abundant tropical moisture continues to be pulled across the local area this evening and stays through the overnight hours. A low level jet is forecast to increase through the period and helps with the development of new cells which are expected to be heavy rain producers with precipitable water values ranging from 2 to 2.5 inches. Rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches with isolated 5 to 7 inches are possible across the Flood Watch area.

The 12Z Del Rio upper-air sounding this morning observed a PW of 2.31 inches, which is near daily record high values. Given the broad region of rising air and lack of dominant surface boundaries, shower activity looks to remain widely distributed across South-Central Texas with sufficient instability for isolated to widely scattered thunderstorms. Strong gusts of 40 to 50 mph are also possible as the heavy rain rates drag down cooler air aloft. Tuesday:
.SHORT TERM /THROUGH WEDNESDAY NIGHT/... Issued at 117 PM CDT Tue Jul 1 2025 Abundant tropical moisture continues to arrive across the local area for the rest of today into this evening. Scattered to numerous showers and isolated thunderstorms are forecast to affect a good portion of south central Texas especially areas along and west Highway 281 (western Hill Country, southern Edwards Plateau, and Rio Grande Plains). Some of these showers and storms could produce heavy downpours leading into localized flooding and due to that, WPC Day One ERO highlights the above mentioned areas under a marginal (1 of 4 risk of excessive rainfall) category. In addition, wind gusts of 30 to 40 mph and up to 50 mph are likely such as in the past few afternoons. The northern Hill Country including the Austin metro and areas along and east of Highway 183 should stay dry for the most part with a passing shower or two late afternoon. The dry airmass over these locations come from a Saharan Air Layer that it is in place for the next day or so. By mid to late evening, the shower and thunderstorm activity across the Rio Grande and nearby locations are expected to diminish with the loss of daytime heating. Overnight lows are forecast to range from the upper 60s to mid 70s with partly to mostly cloudy skies. A similar weather pattern of today is forecast for Wednesday with scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms affecting mainly the Rio Grande and southern Edwards Plateau in the morning with numerous showers and isolated thunderstorms during the afternoon. Some of these showers and storms could produce heavy rains that could potentially lead to localized flooding. Areas along and east of Highway 183 should stay mostly dry with low chances for rain. Wednesday`s highs are forecast to range from the upper 70s across the southern Edwards Plateau to the lower to mid 90s along the I-35 corridor and coastal plains areas.

So, the Royals bought the mortgage to the Aspira (former Sprint) campus. Folks aren't seeing how a ballpark would fit - but at the same scale, you can see that Kauffman stadium would drop right into the former wetlands in the SW corner, with no impact to the existing campus buildings.
