Just read that in 1955 it was decided to build a bridge in Burgundy to improve the region's transport links. And it was to be built directly over the Montrachet vineyard, with a bridge pier in the vineyard. The motorway was to go directly through the Côte d'Or. This plan was only abandoned in 1964.
