Feeling down about my Japanese lesson this morning. I just couldn’t string two sentences together… there are days like that sometimes but after three years of daily study it’s kind of disappointing.

I had my second shingles vaccination yesterday and I feel like 💩… my arm is aching and my head is throbbing. Has anyone out there experienced the same thing? Despite the discomfort, I would still encourage people to get the shot. Shingles really really suck.

It always makes me mad to hear prayers in the House and Senate. The separation of Church and State should be real… that’s where a big beautiful wall should be built.

If someone had told me a few years ago that I would get all my news on YouTube I would have said they were crazy. But it’s the truth, I wouldn’t dream of watching or reading legacy media these days. I feel grateful that there are so many talented journalists and podcasters doing such a great job. 💙

I wonder how much it is going to cost to put things back the way they were. Will we have to keep the ballroom in place? How about all that tacky gold everywhere? Can we rehire all those who were let go? Go back to a Department of Defense? The list is too long to enumerate here.

I had been feeling hope for the first time since that thing won back the presidency and now this. We got a few days of feeling better again and now who knows what will happen. We need to elect real Democrats and I particularly want to see Schumer lose a primary.

My pets share their food and toys but people have become (or always were) selfish beasts. The pseudo Christians pretended not to see the elderly man sitting on the ground asking for change in front of the supermarket this morning. Well this atheist bought him lunch. Those hypocrites disgust me. 🤬

Update: Ella managed to get down by herself thanks to motivation from the pouring rain. 🌈🏝️😎
My sweet Ella has gotten herself stuck up a tree. My ladder isn’t high enough and I don’t know what to do. I live on an island so we don’t have a lot of services…. now it’s raining…..ugh.

I’ve lived in the Caribbean for 25 years and ridden out a few Cat 3 storms but nothing like this. My thoughts are with all those in Melissa’s path….. they are in for a very rough ride. We also experienced a pretty big earthquake today….getting some end-of-the-world vibes here in paradise. 🌴
