Here’s Mama Killdeer sitting on her eggs. Her “nest” is basically a tiny bowl they formed in the sandy soil.

A roseate spoonbill apparently is practicing for his high wire act tryouts. I took this a few days ago at a natural habitat/ rehabilitation home for previously injured birds who can’t be released into the wild.

I saw the red-bellied woodpecker through a window & grabbed the camera. It’s a gray day, and taking the pic thru a window & screen didn’t help the sharpness. They aren’t uncommon birds, but it was the first time I’d seen one at my feeders.

Apparently Loggerhead Shrikes are common across the SE US, but I’d never noticed one until about a year ago. Probably because at a distance they resemble mockingbirds. Turns out these cuties are murderers! www.al.com/news/2023/12...

This white crow lived nearby when we moved here and we saw it almost daily for about 7 years. This is the best pic I got. I just noticed the black crow also has some white on the wings. Possible we could see another white crow from this family in the future?
