On this #IndigenousPeoplesDay, I acknowledge that I am on the ancestral lands of the Odawa nation and also spending time on the ancestral lands of the Anishinabewaki and Missisaugua nations. I am grateful for the care they have taken of these lands.

Great questions! In general, the threaded sites for OMA are in the image below. Sometimes there are data substitutions due to QC. When in doubt, err on the side of the threaded site. You can investigate the threads for all sites here: threadex.rcc-acis.org

I can’t help but feel grief today as so many valued colleagues have their last day in NOAA this week. But I am here, holding fast. Best of wishes in what lies ahead to all who are leaving.

Appreciate the sentiment, but 1-day boycotts just don't matter to big companies. Most people buy the same stuff before/after, so it doesn't end up hurting their bottom line.

Forget a 1-day boycott. Retract as much spending as you can. With the money you're saving, buy more at local businesses.

Feels like I’m the last one to the party, but I am finally on my way to New Orleans for #ams2025! Looking forward to a full week of meeting old friends and new, learning, and communicating about weather and climate with people who share my passions!

Not even the GFS, which typically has no trouble conjuring up apocalyptic snow totals, can come up with any snow anywhere near us in the next 384 hours.

Everybody is posting their big winter snows, so I thought I’d post ours! Ties for the most snow we have had at my house all winter season. (Yep, still haven’t gotten more than a trace.)

On this day 49 years ago, the Edmund Fitzgerald sunk in a November "gale" (actually a stronger storm than just a "gale") on Lake Superior. Find the Laura Ingalls Wilder connection to the "witches of November" here! open.substack.com/pub/wilderwe...
