San Bruno CA, site of WWII memorial for former Tanforan Race Track. Here so-called assembly center (one of several in the west) was set up to imprison 8,000 Japanese Americans in horse stalls until incarceration camps were complete. Most of the incarcerated at Tanforan were shipped to Topaz, Utah.
