When things work and aren't egregious no one cares to challenge the status quo. I think its just so pervasive it's gotten to the point where the general public is starting to notice

The business decision to switch to more consumer friendly and closed off ecosystems is generally I would say, a positive in terms of adoption. Especially with the rise of SaaS.
