Yeah I think I just acknowledged that but to be fair when this is OP’s initial tone, again, I’m not sure what the expected response would be if not more argument. Like this is engagement farming at best

No that’s no what I think, my assertion was just that we can celebrate the win without going out of our way to create arguments in our own camp, which clearly resulted in more arguing within our own camp. Guess I should’ve known better

Look I don’t really care to bicker but i think a lot of people are (rightfully) upset about ICE executing a mother in broad daylight yesterday and perhaps stirring the pot on left/progressive infighting isn’t really the best way to bring people together to celebrate an exceedingly rare win?

Tends to happen when you get into arguments with people on the internet on the side of “the technology that makes it really easy for chuds to generate sexually explicit images of anyone on the internet including children actually isn’t bad and arguing that it is does more harm than good”

I don’t disagree with this sentiment, but contextually, right now specifically, we have a Nazi problem that desperately needs to be cleaned up. Yes people can grow, no those people should not be given a seat in the senate as their primary opportunity to further demonstrate said growth

-maybe a different story, but look at Fetterman, Sinema, etc. We have to be more selective. If we forgive the tattoo we cede that nazism doesn’t disqualify someone from public office. Absolutely plausible Platner made a mistake/has changed. Not saying he’s a scumbag. Saying he shouldn’t be in senate

I think given how much time still exists to find another good candidate, the guy should back out. Was he a really good conduit for the working class v billionaire messaging? Sure, but simultaneously with this coming out he’s damaged that messaging. If he had a legislative track record to speak of-
