Trust me. I so wanted to love this game (and concept - I also bought Colonial Twilight). But having just finished a play though on VASSAL Discord I’m so disappointed.

Played some Alien RPG down at the local games cafe last night. Guess what - we all died 😂
Interesting game with a clever stress mechanic. I thought Shadowdark was pretty grim but wow, Alien takes the biscuit.

Finally but the bullet on Old World. Went with Warriors of Chaos for a maximum points for my £.
Should get me a reasonable force with which to learn the game.
Almost certainly won’t be my long term faction though.

Some Monday morning eye candy. My Peninsular French and British troops based for Blucher, my favourite Napoleonic rules.
Figures are 15mm Battle Honours moulds from the mid 1980s (although the figures themselves are more recent).

With classic tropes and straightforward plots they weren't high literature but by God they were great stories that fed directly into my #TTRPG bug.

As a guy who prefers his fantasy/SciFi gritty and 'realistic' (whatever that means given the context) I really *didn't* want to like this, but it was serendipitously on the shelf in the library hence it's essentially free, so...
