I found you on my porch one day, eager for food. I only knew you a short little while, but you were a bright light on some pretty dark days.

Rest easy, Endy. I hope I was able to give you love and comfort your last few weeks here. 💙

What are you reading this week? 📚🖋️

I’m currently reading Pachinko by Min Jin Lee. Pachinko is a historical fiction novel that explores themes of familial destiny, power, gender, and discrimination. Set during 20th-century Korea, we follow generations of a familial line.

The moment I truly fell in love with Taylor was the premiere of Mine in 2010. I remember sitting in front of my TV, watching CMT, and the music video started to play. I was so captivated by Taylor and her presence. I was six, and I begged my mom for Speak Now for my seventh birthday.

Alysanne would outlive all of her siblings, two of her children, her husband, and many of her friends. She would see the beginning of the end for the Targaryens, helpless to stop it. She would pass away at the age of eighty-seven.

After the death of their father, Aly would continue to serve as Aegon’s unofficial hand in his very short reign. She ran the realm perhaps even more than he did. After Aegon died, Aly would finally return to Raventree Hall to live out the remainder of her days peacefully.
October 29, 2024 at 1:00 AM
Aly was there for her father through the death of her mother, the exile of Rhaerea, the emotional unavailability as Aegon, and so much more. She was the person Jaehaerys was closest to in his final years. During her time in court, Balerion would pass. Her children would grow, and she would live on.
October 29, 2024 at 12:54 AM
As her father grew older, and her brothers remained away from court, Aly would return to King’s Landing. Royce remained in Raventree Hall with their three eldest children. Aly would bring their youngest with her to court as she served as her father’s political advisor and unofficial Hand.
October 28, 2024 at 7:48 PM
Aly and Royce may not have been in love, but they respected each other immensely. Royce had an entire area cleared within his own lands for Balerion to rest. Aly joyfully made her home at Raventree Hall, and she proved to be more politically astute than anyone thought her to be.
October 28, 2024 at 7:40 PM
As Aly grew, she knew she must marry. Her one request to her father was simple: her husband must be kind. Jaehaerys had her meet suitor after suitor, and she chose Royce Blackwood over all of them. He was a decade older than her, but she fell for his charms (or perhaps just his singing).
October 28, 2024 at 7:23 PM
Aly was a perfect fit for the older Balerion. She was gentle with him, and she cared for him like a mother. Perhaps that was why Balerion chose her — love. The soft princess now rode the Black Dread, and her father was furious. She paid no mind, more content to lounge on her dragon’s back.
October 28, 2024 at 7:13 PM
Little Aly was perhaps too sheltered. Her father never placed an egg in her cradle, and she was not allowed near the Dragonpit. Unlike Rhaerea and Elaena, she would not ride a dragon. However, Aly rebelled against her father one late night. She entered the Dragonpit and claimed old Balerion.
October 28, 2024 at 7:09 PM
It is no secret that by her fifth child, Elinor Costayne was exhausted. Alysanne was named after her aunt, and she was supposed to be the last child of the king and queen. Aly was doted upon by her father. Many believe Jaehaerys liked Aly more than her sisters due to her resemblance to his sister.

Aegon the Dragonless was crowned king in 103 A.C. after the death of his father. However, he would skip over his own daughter and name his brother, Aerion, heir. Daenya would never forgive him. Aegon would rein for merely two years before passing from a fever. Aerion would become king.
October 27, 2024 at 7:42 PM
Aegon would remain away from court for most of Daenya’s childhood. Whether it be finding some new war to fight or sailing the sea, Aegon would do anything to keep his gaze away from the girl who looked so much like her mother. Daenya would prosper under Queen Elinor’s care but never know her father.
October 27, 2024 at 7:35 PM
The couple had one child — the princess Daenya Targaryen. The birth proved to be too difficult for Lucella, and she passed shortly after. Aegon was left alone without his beloved and with an infant just days old. Aegon mourned, and Daenya was taken in by her grandmother, Elinor.
October 27, 2024 at 7:28 PM
On a diplomatic visit to Claw Isle with his father, Aegon would meet the young Lucella Celtigar. Lucella was three years younger than the price, and a genuine love grew between the two. Aegon would begin to court Lucella, and they were wed mere weeks later.
October 27, 2024 at 7:20 PM
Aegon’s cradle egg would never hatch, and he would never bond with a dragon. Thus, his cruel nickname of Aegon the Dragonless would begin. Perhaps, if he was not heir, his failure would not be mocked so heavily. Yet, he lived in the shadow of Rhaerea and Aerion — two capable dragon riders.
