I enjoyed Hightown well enough but it was distracting to me how badly it wanted to be The Wire but doesn't come close.

If you've never watched it, I highly recommend Halt and Catch Fire. Great underrated series many years old.

Great piece and spot-on assessment of Jim Crane. He is not without criticism, but he has given Astros fans a plethora of great moments to remember and his refusal to stand pat at the trade deadline when his teams are within striking distance of a WS is commendable.

Agreed. He's under contract for the next two years at 17MM and 21MM respectively and if our Walter Whites of pitching can do for him what we are used to seeing them do for guys like Kikuchi, I think the risk is worth taking.

The injuries this season are unsustainable over the course of 162 gms but the one player I'm beyond frustrated with is Yordan, to the point where I'm ready to move on from him in the offseason. His hands and knees are a constant concern. He has never hit 40 HRs in a season.

LA has 13 currently on the IL with 11 on the 60-day IL. The Astros have 17 with 9 on the 60-day IL.

Agree with you 100% in general here but the weather forecasts were not wrong at all and the NWS issued flash flood warnings hours before. This was a failure on the part of local officials to sound the alarm to get everyone to higher ground in a timely manner.
