Ares will use herbal tinctures! Unfortunately they're quite hit or miss with their efficacy, so he usually ends up working, unable to fall back asleep more than half the time. Over the years the stress of the nightmares has gotten easier to deal with, so he calms down fast!

Ares' dream is rather modest in his opinion. He wants to see his mother again. Not through necromancy/raising her from the dead or chasing her to whatever domain she went to upon death. He well and truly just wants to see her again while she was alive, so he's learning the magic.

Ares is 98 at the start of bg3! This is a bit skewed by the time he spent in the Astral Sea, which is why he looks more on the young side despite acting quite elderly. By the human standards he was raised, he is quite old, and dwells on the fact he outlived his mother easily a lot.
