I keep thinking I'd like the Sox to get a 1st basemen, then think about Casas and how I believed in him at one time... and am very curious where the front office is on him and how best to navigate this. Is he still your guy? If not, how do you get his value back up? etc.

In all seriousness, I understood your point last night (I mistakenly deleted my reply), but still feel bringing in AC was an overreaction.
Alcala had recorded 2 outs and had an error committed behind him. 3 run game with a runner on first, facing the bottom third of an atrocious Twins lineup.

This isn’t a big who could be learning his body/role. Or like Boucher/Siakam who didn’t start playing the until later in life. Siakam started at 17, bouch was washing dishes and had a growth spurt at 19.
He’s a 6’1” guard, there are just far fewer developmental leaps for those players to make.

Don't know how many times I've talk to friends about him and started off with "It's a shame he was involved in that Astros scandal, because he's the exact type of ball player I like rooting for and a great fit here."

It's specific to your example and not necessarily the question... but Steph comes from an era with fewer sets as well which would make any tier 2 card more instantly recognizable.
There are a plethora of high-end cards for ultra modern players, TBD how those age.

It's specific to your example and not necessarily the question... but Steph comes from an era with fewer sets as well which would make any tier 2 card more instantly recognizable.
