Late question: is there a word for sounds that sit in this space - or somewhere nearby? The example that has just struck me is the ‘record scratch’ sound used as a comic effect to interrupt something.

There have been several bus stops in this condition for many weeks round my way in West London - though they have been slowly fixing them. Ever since the big TfL hack 2 months ago. Didn’t send them to @kevlin.bsky.social cos it felt a bit unfair under the circs.
