The Senate just proved that there is no point in voting.

And this has been the problem with elections for a very long time - all we have is the option to vote for the lesser of two evils. All we do is vote AGAINST someone or something. Is it any wonder that most citizens just don't vote and ignore all things political? There's no upside for citizens.
