Any other writers struggle to read their own past work? My novella Managing was born out of a breakup, a horrible living situation, and the cracking of my trans egg. It's a bleak and raw gothic tale that felt more like an exorcism than a story.

I put out my book almost a year ago and then was too self-conscious to actually promote it. When I finally got over that, sales literally improved by a factor of TEN!

When I have friendly conversations with kind people out in the real world, I wonder how all this cruelty ever comes to pass.
Add to that the fact that I woke up a man in the eyes of the law but the world still sees me as a woman. Shows what a farce the law is.

I really didn't vibe with The Atlas Six at all, but this book called out to me. I saw it and had this gut feeling that I'd love it. And yeah, it's giving Flanagan's House of Usher but swap horror for magic. Love it so far!
