I literally already deleted my app. Deactivation of accounts via PC will be next

Yeah, they’re rapidly closing loopholes. I already deleted my app. If nothing changes, I’ll deactivate my account via PC

There is a workaround that may still be available but is closing fast. Report a post (it requires opening the post). Use the three dots menu. After you report it may give the option to block the creator. Some people are reporting this option is no longer available

At least for now, the individual posts can be reported and hidden from feed. I expect that will change soon.

Dead internet theory, here we come!

I’m in this complicated headspace where I understand their intention and am simultaneously frustrated that if more of us saw through the con that is capitalism maybe we could break its hold on us

That and no one does anything for the sake of doing it anymore. I can’t even make cookies or muffins for friends without the suggestion of “these are good, you should sell them” no, they’re decent and nothing that special. I’ll teach you to make them. “Oh, I don’t have time for that”

We’ve been trained to ask, “what so people just wouldn’t pay rent?!” Like that’s a bad thing or somehow impossible despite thousands of years of human society pre even the idea of leases and rent 🙄

If you can’t afford to pay your employees a living wage and stay in business 😱 your business is a failure and should be.

I’m wondering at what point in society we decided running a business is an entitlement even if that business is by definition a failure?

I have. I reject that line of thinking at least for myself as the only person I have direct control of 🙃

Might also be worth mentioning, this was considered a completely plausible premise and the offer from the wealthy friend was largely irrelevant because most wouldn’t have that option

If there is a REAL emergency, a fire in the building, evacuation orders, any number of really bad things where we need to keep our pets safe too and a skittish cat might be hard to locate…

Then, only then, will I “violate” her trust and scoop her safely out of her bed and into a carrier

Here’s where this becomes “useful.”

Any time she gets startled, upset, simply doesn’t want picked up, she runs straight to that bed.

She won’t run from it if we are near the bed. She knows she can’t be touched there.

We respect that rule completely.
