I think it's really interesting to see the artist using a specific species sometimes to represent a certain personality or attitude (or vibe). Finding out how and why people came up with their own fursona has always been a fascinating insight on how they see themselves or feel in their mind.

Movies like zootopia used this a lot! The mayor is a lion. The small rookie is a rabbit. The sly hustler is a fox. Etc.

Absolutely! Honestly I think there is something about using animal representations in stories or art that can really help add a layer of understanding or insight. Some animals have a lot of cultural meanings or associations. A lion character will be seen differently than a mouse one for example.
