9 months no alcohol!

It’s insane that the further away you get from your last drink you want your next one less and less

You also develop new habits and routines that don’t involve drinking

And you gain new memories of sober activities to replace the memories of the party past

8 months ago today I decided to give up alcohol
It was a good decision
It was a life changing decision
I’ve gained better sleep
Better attitude
More enjoyment of social activities
More energy
It’s definitely better financially

I’m going to keep this train on the tracks

Seven months no alcohol

I’m amazed at the amount of freedom I have gained by giving up alcohol
I’m free from poor sleep
I’m free from embarrassing conversations the next morning
I’m free from doing beer runs
Ive found I’m less focused on me and more on others
I’m happier

6 months ago today I quit drinking
It’s been a good 6 months
I never thought dry January would last this long but I’m glad it has
Now on to the next milestone: one day at a time #sobersky
June 22, 2025 at 9:55 PM
Today is 5 calendar months and 152 days with no alcohol
It’s been an eye opener
I’ve never felt better
I don’t miss it. But there are moments I do
I’ve also been reflecting on the behaviors I had while drinking
I feel embarrassed and ashamed
I don’t want to feel like that again

Happy Monday, it's a great day to be sober 😊
I have learned that my actions are far more important than my thoughts.

Hi fellow sober folks
So tonight was rough. Saturday, grill weather, and I’m home alone for the week
I fought a huge craving for a beer but didn’t do it
How long will this go on?

Today is day 112 of no alcohol
16 weeks flew by
I feel great
Sleep well
My singing voice has improved
Last night was tough. I fired up the grill for the first time and boy did I miss cracking open a beer. But I didn’t
It’s amazing what triggers the craving

105 days no alcohol! Or should I say 15 weeks
I’ve been thinking a lot about my relationship with alcohol Its lopsided to be sure. It steals your health, relationships, reputation, in return for a little “fun”
The cost is to high to stay in that relationship and I’m glad I’m out

Day 100 no alcohol!!

This is a milestone I’m proud of
I am very happy with the positive changes that have come
Less stress
Better sleep
More energy
Better relationship at home
Saving money
I haven’t loss much weight but the weight I have seems different

12 weeks no alcohol
90 days have come and gone I feel great although I’ve gained about 5 lbs (I’m eating better I think) but spring is coming and I can get outside again instead of walking indoors
That should help
This has been overall a very positive change

84 days no alcohol
12 weeks

This has been a huge positive change. I do miss having a beer sometimes but it’s less frequent

I’m hesitant to set long term goals like one year because I know that one day at a time is the way to go so I’ll stay with that for now

78 days no alcohol
11 weeks have gone by
It’s getting easier but the urge never goes away
But I feel good
I’m saving money
I’m less stressed
I’m learning new habits
#sobersky
March 9, 2025 at 8:59 PM
70 days no alcohol
10 weeks
It feels good
It’s starting to feel normal
I just don’t think about it that much and when I do I just think , nah, I’ve had enough
#sobersky

Day 64 no alcohol
9 weeks since I had a drink
It never goes away but you think about it less. I could probably have some but now I really don’t

I’m learning new ways to pass the time and have some new healthier habits

And wow. Do you ever save money

Day 56 no alcohol
Today is my 56 th day. 8 weeks!!
This is becoming a lifestyle of choice. It doesn’t seem stressful to not drink. I’ve also noticed it in my spending
I feel healthier although I seem to eat more at meals
#sobersky

49 days no alcohol
It’s weird I’m starting to think in weeks rather than days. I started dry Jan early and kept it going. It was a challenge to see if I could do it and I met the goal. I like the results I’d like to have a drink on weekends but I don’t trust myself yet.
I’ll continue on. #sobersky
February 9, 2025 at 3:43 AM
Day 41 no alcohol
This is it. Jan 31
Who cares. I’m keeping the train going for as long as it lasts
I sleep better
I feel less stressed
My wife likes it
I’m good
#sobersky

Day 37 no alcohol
I’ve been reading about “what comes next” after dry January.
I don’t know
What I do know is that I feel good, sleep better, and am more relaxed and free of stress than I’ve been in a long time
Will I never drink again?
I don’t know. But I’m going to keep this going a while longer

When I miss the carbonated beverage at 5 pm I’m reaching for a club soda or sugar free ginger ale
It’s helping
