Another batch of baby chicks are hatching at our house!!! This will be our hen's second brood. So far, just two! The white chickens are from the batch earlier this year! They have just started laying and are very interested.

Today, it's getting pretty cramped in the nesting box!

4 weeks ago, our hen hatched seven (out of ten) of the fertilized eggs I put under her!
Today we have SIX adolescent chickens! They grow amazingly fast. (We lost one, to a very determine hawk. I was sad, but it was still an amazing sight to witness.)

We are having all sorts of chicken drama here. Our kitty is now *terrified* of our big, mean adult chickens. So, she has learned to start ignoring the baby chickens!

I went to a dumpling making party yesterday. While my dumpling making skills (mine are on the right) were not up to the skills of others, it was still fun! (And, even less pretty dumplings are still tasty!)

The answer is.... DECKS! As in decks of cards. Of course that's the answer and I definitely wasn't thinking of any other word!
