13 years ago today 🇸🇪 Sweden won #Eurovision for the 5th time in the purpose built Crystal Hall Baku, Azerbaijan. Loreen and ‘Euphoria’ received 18 x 12 points, setting a new record.

🇷🇺 Russia’s “Grannies” Buranovskiye Babushki finished 2nd - Serbia’s 🇷🇸 Željko Joksimović ‘Nije ljubav stvar’ was 3rd

23 years ago 🇱🇻 Latvia won the 47th #Eurovision in Tallinn with Marie N and “I Wanna”. Ira Losco with ‘7th Wonder’ for 🇲🇹 Malta came 2nd, 🇬🇧 UK’s Jessica Garlick + Sahlene for 🇪🇪 Estonia tied in 3rd. ETV registered the domain eurovision.tv at the time, it's still the official contest website to this day

33 years ago today Linda Martin won #Eurovision in Malmö for 🇮🇪 Ireland with ‘Why Me?’ written by Johnny Logan. She was runner up in 1984 with “Terminal 3” also written by Johnny. Michael Ball placed second in 1992 for the 🇬🇧 UK “One Step Out of Time”. Mary Spiteri “Little Child” for 🇲🇹Malta was 3rd

38 years ago today Johnny Logan won #Eurovision for 🇮🇪 Ireland with ‘Hold Me Now’ in Brussels. With this second win he wrote himself into the contest history books. Wind for 🇩🇪 Germany placed 2nd with “Laß die Sonne in dein Herz". Umberto Tozzi & RAF placed 3rd for 🇮🇹 Italy with “Gente di mare”

35 years ago today 🇮🇹 Italy won #Eurovision at the 35th contest held in Zagreb, Yugoslavia now Croatia. After winning the late Toto Cutugno performed the reprise of “Insieme: 1992” as a swarm of photographers jostled in the audience at the Lisinski Hall. 🇮🇪 Ireland & 🇫🇷 France shared joint 2nd place

41 years ago today 🇸🇪 Sweden won #Eurovision for the 2nd time (10 years after ABBA) with Herreys and “Diggi-Loo Diggi-Ley”. Their golden shoes were iconic. 🇮🇪 Ireland were 2nd, just 8 points behind, Linda Martin with the Johnny Logan song “Terminal 3” and 🇪🇸 3rd Bravo with “Lady, Lady”

Northern Irish singing star Clodagh Rodgers has died, she was 78. Her career spanned many decades and she famously represented the United Kingdom at the 1971 #Eurovision in Dublin with “Jack in The Box”, placing 4th.
