help me ID a jumping spider?
i encounter these elusive fellas occasionally on my property in the woods in the pnw.
due to localization, i am inclined to think it is johnsoni, but its markings make me think carneus- except for its lack of white marking along its head. which is it? x.x

i know this was meant for funsies but i couldnt help but realize how many of these i experienced as a child and even still nonconsensually as an adult :/

charlene's hopefully going to be a mother. her abdomen is visibly much smaller than it used to be, and the egg sac is almost bigger than her legs could spread around
anastasia, (the other yellow garden spider that rested on the opposite raised bed as this one) was nowhere to be seen

today i got to see a male orb weaver try to mate with a female :o
he was plucking on some strings of the outskirts of her web with his lil feet to coax her close, but when she got close she lunged at him so he fled via hanging thread.
hubby tried to record but only got this blurry pic instead

today i got to see a male orb weaver try to mate with a female :o

just neat how it looks
