You may or may not know, but I've been at home with COVID for several days. I have a mild case, so I've actually been up and about at home, getting stuff done. One thing I did was add a WHOLE BUNCH OF STUFF TO MY PATREON.

When I posted the chapter last week, I read all that preachy stuff and cringed. I'm already sticking my neck out with the novel's premise - I don't need to be a white liberal stereotype as well. So I cut it out. Now it's just the story again. 4/4

To understand the problem of the novel Hood, you'd have to read it knowing who I am (I'm a well-educated and very liberal white straight cis man in case you didn't know). In an early draft of Chapter 14 I just told the story. In a later draft I went on a soapbox-y tangent and got too preachy. 3/4

Sex scenes are difficult. You have to strike a middle ground between being goofily "iridescent" in your language and being outright raunchy. I've written for pornographic magazine "forums" and I think the sweet spot is somewhere a little less graphic than those. Anyway, I hope I got it right. 2/4

The point of a Patreon account, if I'm understanding it correctly, is for a content creator to provide unique and otherwise exclusive content to their "patrons" in exchange for some dedication - either in commitment or in compensation (and commitment). I believe I am doing just that.
