The #Bears free-agent tracker is now updated to show all three of the team's big signings from earlier today.
Feels like a good time to make my first butterfly app post.

Here's the list I will be updating of every signing, trade and roster move involving the Chicago Bears in NFL free agency for Athlon Sports (@athlonsports.bsky.social).

Former #Bears QB Justin Fields lands a new deal with the #Jets that make him their expected starter for the 2025 season.
Justin Fields to the Jets for 2-years and $40M, with $30M guaranteed - per Adam Schefter.

According to 670 The Score's Mark Grote, the Bears have not had any communication "as of yet" with free-agent left guard Teven Jenkins about a new contract, which is not surprising after the team traded for Joe Thuney and Jonah Jackson.

Hopefully, a fresh start will do Jenkins some good.

"Where will Aaron Rodgers play in 2025?" has to be one of the least interesting storylines of the NFL offseason.

Maybe I'll live to regret it, but I'm very happy the #Bears aren't aggressively looking to sign a new OT after watching Dan Moore Jr. get $82 million from the #Titans.

Yikes.

Ryan Poles had better call up Kyler Gordon's people and sign him to a new deal before Jourdan Lewis' contract details come out lol
The Jaguars are signing Jourdan Lewis, Per The Insiders and Peter Schrager. He becomes the NFL’s highest-paid nickel CB.

This...seems like a gross overpay.
Sources: DT Javon Kinlaw to the Commanders, as he gets a 3 year, $45M deal with $30M guaranteed.

Some fans will complain about the Bears making Drew Dalman the second-highest-paid center in the NFL, and I get the skepticism.

That said, people (rightfully) dragged the Bears for low-end spending on their OL in the past three offseasons and they badly needed a starting center. Let it play out.

There it is. The #Bears have their starting center.
The Bears are signing C Drew Dalman to a three-year, $42 million deal with $28 million guaranteed.
March 10, 2025 at 4:20 PM
Drew Dalman should be the top name to watch today for #Bears fans IMO.
Negotiating window opens in 60 minutes. We'll see how many deals come together quickly. It would make an awful lot of sense if the #Bears have #Falcons C Drew Dalman atop their shopping list to continue an offensive line overhaul. DE, DT, potentially a 3rd WR also loom.

That's another edge rusher off the market for the #Bears (not that they would have necessarily looked into signing Reddick).
Haason Reddick is joining the Buccaneers on a one-year deal, source tells @cbssports.bsky.social. It's a $14 million.
