The last time I was up there, I noticed these around the edge of the hillfort. Think they may be the tanks for the fire sites.

A visit to the former RAF Down Ampney looking for WW2 concrete. The airfield was pivotal in many British airborne operations and the returning of wounded back from the war in Europe during 1944-45. The airfield has returned to agricultural use once more, and there are little reminders of its past.
