New arrival.

IMO, SLOW HORSES is the best drama currently airing (if that’s even the right term to use these days). I’m starting Season 5 late, so no spoilers.

At the movies. I know this will be on Netflix in a week, but everything’s better in a darkened theater.

@bryancogman.bsky.social You were the first person I thought of when I saw this January 2026 Criterion release announcement: www.criterion.com/films/29013-...

Support real cinema, and see this film on the big screen. WBs took a huge gamble in giving PTA a budget of $130 million to produce an idiosyncratic story with dangerous subject matter (& film it in VistaVision). You may love or hate the result, but it will make you feel something. It’s a real movie!

I love this poster, and I love this film series. I hope to catch this new installment on the big screen in its limited theatrical run.

First time watch. I love submarine movies and disaster films. This looks like it might check both boxes.

Watching. I’ll give it at least a couple of minutes.

It happened again. I thought I was done buying action figures. Then, I saw this.

Lists are dumb, but I enjoy making them. My last choice, Le Grand Amour, is a bit of a cheat. It was released in France in 1969, but it was eligible because it didn’t receive a U.S. release until 2012. When I realized I could include one of the finest films by Pierre Etaix, I couldn’t help myself.

My favorite lobby card acquisitions from the Columbus Moving Picture Show.

A couple of book pick-ups from the Columbus Moving Picture Show. I already had Randy Skretvedt’s L&H book in hardcover, but I wanted a less heavy paperback reading copy.
