They lost 0.4% of their vote and remain by far the 3rd largest party and in the Senate even on the back of a 12-18 month combined campaign from Labor, LNP, the Media and right wing backers like Advance targeted in particular at Melbourne & Brisbane Green seays. Hardly a collapse of support.

I guess the point of it is to have a workforce that are largely unskilled and just do what they told while big tech oligarchs control ideas and information... if I were to be really cynical

Feels like Labor and the rusted on use that excuse to do nothing and keep taking money from mining companies and billionaires to say everything is fine and put bandaids over the cracks in a dam wall thats ready to burst- same thing led America to Trump… twice

we have to remember that for all the LNP complaining about mudslinging and "everyone being against them" - the Greens have had Labor, LNP, all the media etc... against them and putting a ton of funding (and preference deals) into stopping them as well

Worth noting that Greens vote is up and won Labor a ton of seats thru preferences from progressives

im sorry but when you're talking about needing swing voters and your campaign is saying oh the fascist is right about that issue, but i'll do less to fix it, guess what those ppl will vote for? and this dismissive attitude to it is actually a huge part of the problem.

Harris agreed w/ Trump that the immigration system was "broken", said she would be tough on the border and promised almost 30 billion in funding for ICE, detention facilities and fentanyl tracking - said the wall was a "good idea" - she completely legitimized his fascist immigration policies.

the AI that has a transformative effect is not generative AI - but generative AI, which is largely useless is generating huge amounts of energy for no benefit.

whataboutism is not really a productive argument... generative AI provides no value to society in return for its massive energy use (on the scale of a country in five years) - it will not facilitate transition from fossil fuels, it will drive uptake of dirty cheap power

Thats on her campaign. Why did she try so hard campaigning for republican votes? She simply did not provide a compelling alternative bc she and her team a) refused to break with biden and b) catered to corporations and billionaires instead of ppl in a time of populist upheaval

More than 3/4 of Bernie voters voted for Clinton and Harris didnt lose because of the left, she lost bc of Biden and the economy and her ineffectual policies and poor politicking to cater to a fantasy anti trump republican, which just legitimized trump’s fascist policy on many issues
