The PDF of background material was pretty interesting. I can't get this sentence from a 2020 GISAID email out of my mind. Maybe "At a time like this we are delighted to give you all the help we can so that together we can resolve the crisis" would have gone down better in the historical record.

I am sure the well-meaning staff who have worked to minimize damage will be well rewarded by being given all the blame when things start to go wrong.

I think the BBC like him because he is straight talking, but this snip from the British Heart Foundation suggests that inclisiran isn’t just one injection a year and is not targeted at everyone. Medical science is seldom straightforward and doesn’t fit well into 5 minute slots from talking heads.

There’s plenty to be proud of in the history of British science, engineering and literature. The culture wars focus on Empire and stately homes has forced the debate onto narrow and indefensible ground.
