Presbyterian Minister in the Midlands of Ireland. Computer geek, guitarist, hoarder of books and obscure information. Love seeing the bizarre and beautiful in the world.
Then instead of laughing they follow you even more. Hoping that at the heart of all the lies they'll find the truth. And bit by bit they accept the unacceptable.

Guards! Guards!
Sir Terry Pratchett

Although on second thoughts the 21st Century twist could be that they reawaken Lewis instead of Merlin.

Who's going to be Jane and find Merlin this time?

Genuine laugh out loud!

That is so much more fun than Random Penguins!

I find it really confusing in Audible when it informs me that the book I'm about to listen to has been brought to me by Random Penguins from a House - or something like that.

Can we now rename it Megalopouli Rex instead?

The Rex is important to distinguish it from the much thinner and smaller Megalopouli Sesame

Interesting that this is brought about by Uranus entering Aries when, for a long time, the rest of the world has looked at the current president and thinks of him as the personification of Uranus.

I wonder how much of this happened in the world wars? I'm sure you had corporations earning from both sides then as well.

This is where knowing flag language is (very rarely) useful.

Google image search was rubbish but "flag with white star on a navy field" worked better.

Although I should just claim that I knew it rather than having to Google it...

They really are using, "It Can't Happen Here" by Sinclair Lewis as a to-do list.

There is, unfortunately, a lot of Irish academia who would happily label him English.

He falls into the "Wrong kind of Irish person" category that many of our great scientists and, especially, our notable women fall into.

The edits section of his Wikipedia page are a sight to behold.

I grew up in Northern Ireland and I've no doubt that if something like this happened there the streets would be aflame and half the country would riot.

That America (with all your guns) is so bizarrely placid throughout this state-sponsored horror astounds me.

They misspelt the word hostage in the title of that article.

This looks like a scene from A24's Civil War.

I'm going to have to try and look one out. That would make a great gift for my wife who is a proper tea Ginny.
