If states force rape victims to carry to term, then the charge should be upgraded to at least manslaughter if that victim dies due to the pregnancy.

It would allow the deployment of Us soldiers into US cities to “protect” them from Canadians. Canada should prepare for a potential refugee crisis as people flee the hegseth military occupation of their homes and cities.

Nothing would destroy the US faster than a worldwide dumping of Treasury notes. Some US style sanctions imposed by the rest of the G7 would also have a sobering affect.

It was always for the benefit of the oil sands, not the consumer at Midwest pumps. A lot of misleading claims were dealt. Be interesting if trump doesn’t try to restart the project. Just need someone to offer him something. Maybe his name on it. lol

What does the price of gas in one location have to do with the price of a barrel? Without XL are people without gas? Without XL how does Alberta ship oil for export NOT to be refined in the Midwest? Who benefits? If it’s nothing, why did they push so hard.
November 26, 2024 at 6:46 PM
It’s not gas prices that the backers of XL were interested in. It was price they could sell oil at.
November 26, 2024 at 6:37 PM
The goal was to free the oil from local pricing to global. Even $0.25 a barrel would be worth it to Alberta.

That mostly sounds more like more FAFO to me.

Funny his a sign on a door makes a bathroom safe from trans but never safe from Trump.

By everything, you mean, commercial real estate, logistics, and worker pay??? And yes, I know recognized sarcasm. Agree with you.

Best to hold back on spending, but if you need convincing, when you notice fewer trucks on highways, hold onto every dollar (gold index if you can) possible. We are a debtor consumer market. Debate all you want but it will be very painful to change those two things.

Only part I disagree with, current t pipeline goes to a Midwest refining outfit. So bypassing would increase wholesale fuel prices in Midwest while allowing for increased access to global markets. Great for producer, bad for midwesterners.
November 26, 2024 at 1:11 PM
When did that stop?
November 26, 2024 at 12:57 PM
But but the pipeline…

Trump announced 25% tariffs on Canadian and Mexican products. Thats 2/3rds of all imports. Going to feel that immediately and severely. Some prices will go up, but also trade will decrease. Investment will disappear and unemployment will soar on both sides as every business braces.

Softwood already has a tariff once a quota for the year has been reached. The limit is usually hit by April.

We could then grab pieces and spread it all over the nearest wall exclaiming, “they stole the bathroom, stop the shit!”
