I don’t completely agree: imo using generic wording that can be remixed is not much better than using AI, because in both cases the artist won’t get paid. I put it alongside Banjo Kazooie-style generic noises. Rare could write lots of dialog with only minimal VO. Is that inherently bad?

I think you should actually read the article, he advocates for artists being paid for their work, and suggests an “acceptable” use of generative AI could be getting his receipts sorted faster so he can work on the game more. He doesn’t actually take a stance on AI, just for more nuanced discussion

I appreciate the term AI has been tainted - but surely the onus is on all of us to have nuanced conversations, instead of saying “be conscious of having nuanced conversations, because lots of people have black and white opinions”. Like, let’s not just throw ourselves to the mob because it’s easy.

Interestingly it’s the highly educated - a demographic famous for holding narrow, uneducated views. Curious.
