The city is too full to preserve my body In order to build assets in my womb, I hang in the street and shadow the city. LIKE MUSIC This winter, on a snowy sofa with a rabbit. I sat on the floor with a quiet friend listened to music largo, dug a tunnel, ate lunch andante, dug a tunnel and met the dead. Past those quiet people we dug on and went a little farther. Next day was the same, the tunnel made time pass like a novel, and we didn't speak. On the snowy sofa, I yarned, andante, andante. A pair of clothes melted softly.

of Houses l've Inhabited Forever Without Knowing There were hallways into quarters I'd never seen. Rooms behind rooms where no one has ever gone. Walls with secret panels hiding vast empty realms. A door leading to a cellar where no door has been Before, cellar wide open with a skyblue ceiling Across which a flock of geese is flying over a Pale glacial lake. Sometimes I can just make out Someone I love who's died sitting on a crate by Its shore. Once someone was flying by and invited Me to come along, I hadn't answered fast enough & they were gone. Logic had slowed me down.

Jay Besemer's newest collection of poems YOUR TONGUE IS AS LONG AS A TUESDAY (white book cover with red/black lettering, fairly simple & elegant design with the tuesday split across front and back cover) next to a stained glass rendition of dali's Young Woman at a Window (btw, it is dali's sister Ana Maria in the painting). not coincidentally, i have the stained glass rendition, which my sister made, tattooed across my entire back. a tribute, if you will. and only folks who read the alt text will know this ;)

Skilled at Benevolence On stage, a rat snake climbs a tree. The sky turns black. Lightning strikes the insides of the theater and some cast members scattered throughout the audience are killed. On stage, a villain appears in prison garb. He smiles. He watches the snake in the tree. He finds a diving board and does not jump. He sits and he reads story after sto-ry from a book he will not say. "This is gray," shouts a cast member in the audience, and they too are loudly killed.

a couple things in one of fave mags today alongside so much loveliness! here's one abt bears & joy
Light Emitting Diode I met my joy on a highway overpass. Its flame was beating the steel rail into a lamp. I knew it was my joy how a moth knows it's night. Some people understand their joy is a blinding thing, a hat to hide the blood below. I have no memory of my own, but on a boat one day I fell asleep and it sounded like the creaking ice, and across it a single hungry bear searched desperately in its own mouth for food. It couldn't tell its bear flesh from any other flesh, and its pawlessness was like the brightest flag waving its hot surrender to the speechless sun.
