This is such madness. Beyond the human toll and economic fallout, even the direct savings are likely a net loss.

Even written-down coal plants are already uncompetitive, running mostly to fill supply gaps. Spending $36B on new capacity & grid expansion will yield the same result, with an additional $36B in new assets…
