I was more into the stuff that unfolded in Soho basements and suburban west London pubs. But it was all related.

We made a very good go of spinning up a vibrant (and often happy) music/club scene and enjoying the good bits of London in the early 90s.

I think we all rate the London of our early 20s. For me, the London of the early 90s was magical.

I hope this is still played just before (?) the QPR team runs out at Loftus Road.

When mendacious newspaper columnists (Gove, Bunter) are elevated to positions of power, we know a democracy is deeply flawed.

If you haven’t yet wiped your arse it should be fine.

A pretty standard component of slavery.

The average white Christian nationalist sees nothing wrong in supporting a child rapist.

I apologise. It’s highly unfair to criticise someone on the grounds of something they’ve never said, done or advocated.

Timothy Snyder shares memes indicating that he’s an enthusiastic fascist puncher? OK. I hadn’t seen that. Now I understand a little better why you’d call him a coward.
May 15, 2025 at 2:42 AM
Oh right. I’ve never formed the impression that “liberal” is synonymous with “fascist puncher”.
May 15, 2025 at 2:28 AM
Cool. I don’t see what that has to do with cowardice.
May 15, 2025 at 2:19 AM
If they believe they’re in danger, then flight is a rational response. Perhaps “misguided” would have been a more apt term than “gutless cowards”. In your analysis, surely your complaint is that they’ve overestimating the danger rather than displaying cowardice.
May 15, 2025 at 2:12 AM
“They're (Snyder etc) gonna flee and leave their country to the fascists.” - This seems like strong language if, as you now suggest, there isn’t any real danger to “leave their country to”. 🤷🏼‍♂️

If the situation in the USA isn’t serious, I don’t see why you’d object to anyone leaving.

I remain grateful that my wife’s great grandfather was enough of a gutless coward to get his family out of Berlin before they call all be sent to the death camps.
