It's been fun hanging out at the Tunghai University Taiwan Southeast Asian Studies Conference with this excellent crowd from Parami University: my colleague Dale Mineshima-Lowe, our awesome registrar Phyu Thet Wai, and our altogether brilliant student Moe Myat Kywe.

It was so good to be up at 梓書房 / paperbooks in Taichung yesterday to attend this event with writers Naomi Sím and Kiú-kiong, talking about their writing, our @windandbones.com book, Tâigael: Stories from Taiwanese and Gaelic, and the challenges of translating between minoritised languages.

Feasting on bürek with @drhannahstevens.bsky.social before heading back to Taiwan. For a few months, we’ll be running the @windandbones.com empire from different parts of the world. Feeling excited by all the projects in the works.

It's been a busy day in the kitchen. We're having a small party before heading to the UK next week for a few weeks. We have sourdough rolls, spinach quiche, chocolate mousse with orange shortbread and salad.... @drhannahstevens.bsky.social is in charge of cocktails.

Sunday reading: 巴奈回家, by the formidable indigenous singer and activist, Panai. I saw her perform a couple of weeks ago, at an event in a tiny bookshop in Tainan, and she was awesome.
