This is interesting- I've often thought that it would work just fine provided you don't expect your house to be 23 degrees - basically low-level heat to keep things dry. I wish there were specialists for this (my house is 1712 - damned if i'm gonna insulate it so the interior goes mouldy)

Agreed, but not to the exclusion (increasingly the case in museums where funding for multimedia experiences is readily available) of being able to appreciate the artefacts themselves. Some people are genuinely more interested in things than people. The artefacts have their own story. Hard to explain
