Have just managed to snap these lovely songbirds at dusk! What species do you think they are? Starlings perhaps? 😊🐦 #ornithology #gardeningfeed #biodiversity

A glorious woodpigeon having a good rest on the roof of my bird feeder! 🥰 I love the way they just plonk themselves down, seemingly without a care in the world! 😊🐦🌍 #gardeningsky #ornithology #gardenbirds

If we want to see bats in our local area, we need to retain old, mature trees and other natural habitat for them to thrive in! They're fascinating, adorable animals! 😊🦇🌍 #gardeningfeed #nativetrees #rewilding

Now ain't that the truth! 😏🌿🌍

OUR NATIVE WILDFLOWERS ARE NOT WEEDS! 😏They're an essential part of our eco-system and many insect (and other animal) species have evolved to exclusively feed on these amazing plants! 😊🌿 Let's celebrate them in 2025! HAPPY NEW YEAR! 🥰🌸🌍 #gardeningfeed #rewilding #nativeplants

Our world is full of noise, so I quite like these words of wisdom! 😍🌳🌍 #nature #rewilding #gardeningfeed

Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! 🎅🎉 My urban wildlife garden is full of glorious songbirds and I'll never get tired of watching them! 🐦 🐦🌍 #rewilding #ornithology #gardeningfeed

Rain can bring its own unique beauty to a wildlife garden: raindrops on ferns and other plants, as well as snails feasting on decaying fruit, are all part of the cycle of life. 💧🐌🌍 #gardening #gardeningfeed #nativeplants

A lazy woodpigeon resting on my garden wall! Happy Tuesday everyone! 🥰👍🌍 #gardening #gardeningfeed #ornithology #rewilding #biodiversity

Stone and log piles in your garden provide a whole new habitat for all sorts of critters! As the wood decays, new life cycles emerge. Amazing fungi, too. Butterflies love to bask on dead and decaying logs, as well as natural stone. 🥰👍🌍 #gardening #gardeningfeed #fungi #rewilding #biodiversity

Wise words indeed! Interesting to read the full version of this. And no, one doesn't need to be an ecologist to live in a world of wounds. Even lay people can become acutely aware of the continued destruction of our natural environment. Hard to stay upbeat sometimes, but one must try. 😟🌿🌍

I just 🥰 the colours of autumn and winter! Leaves on plants, as well as on the ground. Not just pretty to look at, but also great for the soil and all sorts of wildlife. I will keep my paths clear, but other than that my fallen leaves are staying put. 🍂🍁🌍 #gardening #gardeningfeed #rewilding

The bare-root planting season is in full swing, so do get planting! 😀 My Irish native hawthorn hedge is nearly ten years old and provides food, shelter and nesting sites for all sorts of creatures, especially birds! 🦉🌿 🌍 #gardening #gardeningfeed #ornithology #rewilding #nativeplants

A wildlife garden is not just about native wildflowers, but also needs a canopy, so planting in layers is essential. Here's a shot from last summer. A riot of colour, or what I call 'controlled wilderness'. 🥰🌳🌍 #gardeningfeed #rewilding #ornithology

Sadly, most people don't seem to recognise the value of true friendship any longer and it breaks my heart. Having a thousand followers on social media is not going to meet our needs. Thank God for my urban wildlife garden, which is currently full of birds. 😊 #gardening #nativeplants #mentalhealth

If you have a wall (or fence), would you consider removing a brick or two at ground level, to allow hedgehogs and other wildlife to move more freely between gardens? 🦔👍 (Image: courtesy of 'seedball.co.uk') #wildlife #rewilding #gardening

I really wish, the world started banning artificial turf! This stuff is lethal. It destroys gardens, kills our local biodiversity and is not always recyclable. 🤢😢 #gardensky #gardeningfeed #gardening #climatebreakdown #biodiversityloss

Creating a garden for wildlife is one of the best things I've ever done! So good for the soul, so much learning and a much needed oasis in a world, where nature is increasingly being pushed to the brink. 😉🌿 #rewilding #nativeplants #gardening #gardensky #gardeningfeed

Apart from being a borderline fanatical wildlife gardener, I also have a huge passion for old, historic shrub (and rambling) roses. 🥰🌹 My young 'Blush Noisette' rose is still in flower and her glorious blooms are literally glowing in late afternoon sunshine. 😊🌹🌹

It pains me to say this, but I'm starting to believe, that this world (our precious blue planet) would be better off without us! Nature would bounce back in an instant! 😏🌳
