✨️"Piranesi" by Susanna Clarke✨️

I went into this fully expecting to love it as much as everyone recommending it did, but unfortunately, it fell completely flat for me. The mystery was interesting, but sadly I was very bored most of the time. 🥹 This one just wasn't for me.

✨️"Mockingjay" by Suzanne Collins✨️

And thus ends my re-read of all the Hunger Games books. Amazing as always, and it squeezed several tears out of me in the end once again. 🥹

✨️"Make the Season Bright" by Ashley Herring Blake✨️

I know it's not the right season yet, but I saw it at the library and thought it looked cute, so I checked it out anyway. 👻 It was fun, I enjoyed it, but the way the two talked during sex took me out of the story. 😅

✨️"Project Hail Mary" by Andy Weir✨️

When I heard the trailer for the movie is out and spoils some things I was like "TIME TO FINALLY READ THE BOOK" and omg, Ryland and Rocky are everything to me, their interactions, their relationship, I love them so much. 😭👌🏻💖💯

✨️"The Lamplighters" by Emma Stonex✨️

Nice moody atmosphere, a good mystery, and an interesting plot structure. I liked the jump between the past and the present and how gradually the mystery was unraveled through that. I enjoyed it.

✨️"The Only Good Indians" by Stephen Graham Jones✨️

I enjoyed how real the characters felt and how authentic their relationships came across. The book built good tension but sometimes dragged it out a bit too much for my personal taste, broke the suspense sometimes.

✨️"Holes" by Louis Sachar✨️

Finished the book today and rewatched the movie and people are right, the movie is an almost spot-on adaptation. 💯 I really liked the friendship between Stanley and Zero, and the interwoven generational history, I had a good time. 👻

✨️"Thornhedge" by T. Kingfisher✨️

I finally read my first T. Kingfisher book and I really enjoyed it. 🥳
Toadling was so endearing and Halim was so sweet and I completely get what T. Kingfisher means when she says this is a sweet story. It really is. 💖

Went to the library yesterday and got my first library card in like 25 years, and of course I checked out a few books. 👻

✨️"Hell House" by Richard Matheson✨️

Great tension, spooky, kept me engaged til the very last page. The characters are interesting, though the women are very written-by-a-man. Some language that wouldn't fly today, do check content warnings. A good haunted house novel.

✨️"A Study in Drowning" by Ava Reid✨️

Impeccable vibes, interesting characters and a suspenseful mystery that is perfect for an overcast summer by the sea (I'm not by the sea, but it gave me the feeling I was, very atmospheric). Ava Reid is a new auto-buy author for me.

✨️"How to Solve Your Own Murder" by Kristen Perrin✨️

A fun murder mystery in a seaside town in England. I enjoyed it. The author's acknowledgments mentioned there will be a film or TV adaptation, which I look forward to.

✨️"Don't Let the Forest In" by C.G. Drews✨️

It might be because I just came from a book with a similar third-act reveal, but I clocked that reveal in chapter 1. Still, I really enjoyed the book and the two main characters, although some things were a bit too convenient.

✨️"We Were Liars" by E. Lockhart✨️

After I finished watching the show, I was in the mood to re-read the book, so I unearthed my 10 year old ebook copy on my e-reader and did that, and I gotta say, I enjoyed it much more than the first time. The show is very good, too.

✨️"The Electric State" by Simon Stålenhag, translated by Martin Dunelind✨️

I read this as an ebook on Everand, but I definitely also want to get a physical copy of this book. I absolutely loved the atmosphere in this and the artwork is absolutely gorgeous.

✨️The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes by Suzanne Collins✨️

This was a re-read for me and a first read for my bestie (she loved it), and it was even better the second time around. The first time I gave it 4⭐️, this time I gave it 4.5⭐️.
I love Lucy Gray. 💖

Kieran Culkin

Okay, this one came as a surprise to me but now that I look at him, it's totally believable that Kieran's face might one day turn into Stanley Tucci's face, so from that alone it seems like a good choice. I haven't seen much with Kieran in it, but he's pretty popular, so we'll see. 👀

Elle Fanning

OMG THEY ACTUALLY DID IT!! Hell yeah, I'm so looking forward to her playing Effie, she's gonna nail this! 💯

Molly McCann & Iona Bell

I have not seen either of them in anything yet (Iona is also still very new to the game), and I am surprised that they went this route, I really thought they were going to cast actresses of color for these two characters, but I look forward to seeing their performances. 👀
