Many minors already consult their parents, making this law duplicative. For many others, abuse, incest, safety threats, and a myriad of other concerns keep them from disclosing their abortion. Minors can make these decisions for themselves.

This is based solely on control and not on safety. Minors deserve bodily autonomy.

Parental notification laws generally require written notification from the provider 24-48 hours before the minor can receive care.
