Blue faience ring from Egypt, 18th Dynasty (1390 BCE). Found on historicaljewelry Tumblr. Ring lives at Art Institute of Chicago - www.artic.edu/artworks/141.... Ring diameter is 1.9 cm which makes it a size 9 (UK size R).

Blue faience ring with figure of a seated cat. There isn't much detail on the cat and the blue coloring on the ring is uneven. Ring is Egyptian from Dynasty 18, approximately 1390 BCE.

I've been postcarding again! This was a campaign from @postcards2win.bsky.social to encourage people to vote for Aftyn Behn in Tennessee's CD 7 special election. I mailed off 100 of these postcards on Friday.

For the past several years I've been getting a Van Cat Meow calendar. Willow's people have given up the van life and I thought that meant no more calendars. So I bought this super awesome Love Notes From Nature made by @sarahmackattack.bsky.social. But! (1/2)

This is Maya (on the back of the chair) and Celine. I lost them both within a couple of months of each other in 2024. They had no use for each other but they loved me so there was a temporary truce this day so they could be both not too near each other but close to Mama.
2 cats sit on an oversized recliner. Meatloafed on the back is Maya, a torbie with white muzzle and chest, looking at the photographer. On the right, sitting on a pillow on the arm of the chair, is Celine, an orange-striped long-haired cat with white feet, muzzle and chest, also looking at the photographer. The chair has a cover that is multicolored squares with the same design. Under Celine's pillow is another rectangular pillow with a yellow and black border and several different cats by artist Laurel Burch. On the other arm is a corn heating bag in a gray and black cat pattern and on top of that is a Kindle Keyboard open to the save screen which is a painting of Thomas More. I Voted sticker from local county ballot. Top half shows a cartoon ballot wearing glasses and a yellow ball cap with the word BALLOT on it. His cartoon right hand is giving a thumbs up. The lower half of the sticker is dark blue with white text - I VOTED with 3 yellow stars under that and Maricopa County written along the bottom curve of the sticker.

Cross stitch of a Giant Squid. Squid is in shades of orange. The two longest tentacles are held up in a semicircle while the rest dangle below. There is some white detailing on the ends of the longest tentacles and top of the fins. Stitched on navy blue Aida fabric.

Cross stitched Arizona Iced Tea can. Top and bottom rims are stitched in a straw gold color. Can is a light minty green. On the left are letters stitched in white that spell out Arizona. There are sprays of dark brown branches with pink buds on the ends of many of them. The can is outlined in black.

Another 90s motif from my current cross stitch project. I like that this project has lots of little elements. I get a lot of satisfaction hits from the completion of the little pieces even though I'm a ways from actually completing the whole thing!

There are 2 horizontal dark purple lines at center top and 2 diagonal dark purple lines slanted towards the right on the center bottom. There is a group of 4 small cross-shaped buttons on the right in a diamond pattern. Top button is dark blue, right side is orange, bottom is yellow and left is pale green. There is a black cord coming out of the top center. Controller and all buttons are outlined in black. There is also some dark purple outlining the small buttons.

Working on a new cross stitch project while finishing up another one. This one has all kinds of delightful 90s motifs and is SO COLORFUL! (when you see the one I'm finishing up, you'll understand my excitement at lots of color!)

I've been cat sitting this weekend. This is Ceelo. I think he's slightly confused about being here. Yesterday we were good friends but he got mortally offended this morning when I had to fish him out from under my bed. It's almost 9 pm and I think we're finally friends again!

This is Ceelo. I'll be cat sitting him at the end of the month. He needs an insulin shot once a day. It'll be easier on me if he's at my house so his mama is bringing him over for weekly visits to get him used to being here.

I do occasionally stitch things that don't have cats on them! This is Northern Lights from Sweet Annet on Etsy, stitched on 14 count plastic canvas. It's about 2" by 3". I glued some felt on the back and I'll be gluing a magnet on there, too.

Cross stitch supply haul! Treasures came in the mail today. Perforated paper, plastic canvas, Aida in various shades, fancy Tulip brand needles and many, many skeins of floss. Might use that blue-green Aida for a nudibranch pattern. The others? No idea! They were pretty and I couldn't resist.

Check it out - my retro angler fish cross stitch project (pattern from Mid-Century Maude on Etsy). I thought it would be so cool to somehow make the lure light up and I actually made it happen with a micro LED from Evan Designs.
