Read #20 for audition prep. Miss Persephone thinks a cat would have solved many issues. #persephonesathenaeum #readinggoal2025

Read #19 is "Chain of Iron" by Cassandra Clare, book two of The Last Hours trilogy and Persephone is still disappointed with the lack of cats. #persephonesathenaeum #catsky #booksky

Read #18 ended up being an afternoon read, "Farenheit 451" by Ray Bradbury. Unfortunately still quite relevant. Miss Persephone doesn't appreciate the treatment of critters. #persephonesathenaeum #readbannedbooks #readinggoal2025

Read #17 "Lore of the Wilds" by Analeigh Sbrana. Less library than I hoped and more romance than anticipated. All the characters are black and beautiful. Miss Persephone likes the fox. #persephonesathenaeum #catsky #read #books

Read #16 is "Chain of Gold" by Cassandra Clare as I continue my chronological re-read of all the Shadowhunters books. Miss Persephone thinks there's too few cats. #blep #persephonesathenaeum #catsky #booksky

Read #15 was a bit sneaky with "Number the Stars" by Lois Lowry. For some reason I don't think I ever read it as a kid. Being a well-practiced adult reader, I finished it in a few hours. Miss Persephone appreciates the delight brought by a small kitten. #persephonesathenaeum #booksky

Another day, another book complete, read #14 is "Legendborn" by Tracy Deonn, a great read, but short on cats. #persephonesathenaum #booksky #catsky

Read #13, "Fallen" by Mia Sheridan, a dark suspenseful novel and Miss Persephone was not impressed by the critter representation.

Invested in a VPN service for greater security online, fun side affect is seeing how place names and such change based on what country you have it set to, I'm sure this will prove to be quite a useful trick. #knowledgeispower

Read #12 is "Daindreth's Sorceress" by Elisabeth Weatley. Miss Persephone was not impressed with the lack of cats and behavior of the bad guys towards critters. She appreciates the color coordination at least. #persephonesathenaeum #readinggoal2025 #booksky #catsky #tortoiseshellcat

A #bannedbookhaul courtesy of many reward points. (Okay, Circe is technically not on any lists) All were shipped in the same box except Farenheit 451, which I suppose is fair, 541 degrees F seems like it'd be a very bad time for books. . . #persephonesathenaeum #readbannedbooks #booksky

Read #11 is complete, "The Guilded Ones" by Namina Forna. Miss Persephone is pleased there's some decent critter representation. An amazing read with fascinating world-building. #persephonesathenaum #readinggoal2025 #tortoiseshellcat #catsofbluesky #booksky

Of all the historically challenged/banned books I ordered, only the George Orwell ones got special treatment. . . I'm not sure what this means but apparently 1984 requires bubble wrap . . . #booksky #readbannedbooks #readingisdangerous #nineteeneightyfour #animalfarm #persephonesathenaeum

Miss Persephone wants to remind you that while you may lose your home, your friends, your family, your rights. It's significantly more difficult to take away your education. #persephonesathenaeum #knowledgeispower #booksky #read

When you have almost $75 in rewards on your blue curvy arrow account, might as well use them to get some #bannedbooks from them before boycotting. I got 8! #persephonesathenaeum #readbannedbooks #knowledgeispower #booksky

I’m a part time librarian and I just want to echo what I’ve seen other librarians say recently: there is a HUGE uptick in requests for social justice, climate justice, abolition, history, etc books and I just want to say nobody is giving up the fight. If anything people are fighting harder #library

It's been a rough couple weeks so I ventured to the bookstore! I found I had a severe lack of work by PoC about PoC protagonists and decided that it simply would not do! Also impulse-bought a relevant work I read back in college. Overheard that 1984 and Farenheit 451 have been selling a lot lately 🤔

It would seem the cat has approved of read #10. Apparently the og release date of this title coincided with the release of the first attempt at bringing the Shadowhunters to visual media. #persephonesathenaeum #tortoiseshellcat #readinggoal2025

So of you're curious about going through immigration right now, apparently it took 3 hours for US citizens to be permitted to disembark from a US origin cruise ship that departed for the Panama canal 2 weeks ago and returned to Miami yesterday. . .

Book #2 of the Shadowhunters re-read in chronological order. Miss Persephone wants more sassy Church content. #persephonesathenaeum #tortoiseshellcat #shadowhunters

Working on re-reading the Shadowhunters Chronicles in chronological order. Miss Persephone's favorite character is Church, of course! #persephonesathenaeum #tortoiseshellcat #booklover #shadowhunters #cassandraclare #theinfernaldevices

Just discovered "Epic the Musical", which is great, but it reawoke the frustration where I want to tell Telemachus he's in his early 20s and therefore an adult who has every right to kick those suitors out of his mom's house . . . Sigh.
